Indian miniatures and artworks have enchanted historians and art lovers for centuries. These beautiful collection of small-scale, highly detailed paintings uses a unique painting technique which requires an amazing combination of aesthetic, skill, tradition and sheer dedication.

They are being created using only natural pigments made of minerals, ochres and vegetable dyes obtained from spices such as turmeric, barks and dried flower petals. The paint brushes used come in a variety of thicknesses, made from the soft ear hairs of bullocks, the fine neck hair of cashmere goats and from the exquisite hair of squirrels’ tails.

Each painting is painstakingly created using a magnifying glass. This is crucial to attain the required level of exquisite detail. Each painting is encased in traditional Italian craftmanship frames and French gold-leaf paper in the passe-partout have been well-crafted in with the utmost art museum quality.

Any unevenness in gradient, tone and textures of the paper is due to it being handmande. The colours found in the painting will also have a slight variation of colour tone and gradient. This is a result of the pigments used in the paint mixtures during the hand painting process.

We strongly believe in protecting nature and we assure you that no animals were harmed during the making of these beautiful paintings.
